Time to Play Curriculum Based Gross Motor Excursion
This will be a 60 min activity with 10 min introduction and discussion followed by 3 x 15min blocks where children will be broken up into groups to participate in each activity alternately, then a 5 min conclusion to the excursion and handouts for extension work to be completed back at school or quiet/wind down time upstairs in the centre.

Introduction and Discussion Time
Will determine our rules of the excursion with children’s participation in setting of the rules and consequences if rules are ignored. Being unsafe and putting at risk safety of self and others.
An overview of what they will be doing during the excursion and what benefit they will gain, this again is group discussion and participation.

The circuit
Gym equipment of scooter boards, balance beam, wobble boards, physiballs, vertical and horizontal ladder. Explaining each piece of equipment and how it is to be used and what muscles it helps to develop, then move through the circuit as a group with a time limit on each equipment
Party Games
Upstairs games of parachute games, musical spots, musical statues, pin the tail on the donkey or chinese whispers.
Conclusion of our day with your school - Aim of Time to play and gross motor excursion is to develop in each student skills, values and attitudes needed to create for themselves, an active healthy life and have fun in the process.
Time to play and gross motor excursion meets all five essential skills that students should develop from PDHPE.

Decision making - When setting the rules for this excursion and consequences of ignoring rules and being unsafe on the equipment or with others.
Interacting - Throughout all activities

Problem solving - Developed with hide and seek activity, rule setting discussion and gym circuit activity.
Cost
$10 per child
Children may bring morning tea or lunch or
$14.50 per child - includes Lunch bag (these can be collected/posted to the excursion for menu choice and decoration/labelling.)
A designated area will be assigned for storage of bags & shoes etc and for exclusive use for your children for meals.

Option 1 – cost $7.90 per child
This includes entry, unlimited play, designated table and unlimited water jugs for children on ground level.
The children can bring their morning tea/ lunch and have full access to the upstairs area for these meals.
Option 2 – cost $12.90 per child
This includes entry, unlimited play, designated table and water jugs for children on ground level and a cubs grub lunch bag per child.
The lunch bag includes; a juice box, spread sandwich, snack size chip bag or yoghurt and a killer python or freddo treat. These bags can be sent to you prior to visit for the children to fill in their requests and even decorate their own bags.
The children can still bring morning tea and meals will be served upstairs.
If you have a very large number of children we recommend you split your group to numbers approx. 50 children per visit to maximize everyone enjoyments.
We are happy to have extra staff to assist supervision if requested.
